It is officially August and all the  children in my area are getting ready to head back to school. My son is going to be a Sophomore this year, although it is hard to believe. He attends on-line high school and is pretty excited for this school year. He finally gets to take classes that he wants. He has  a real passion for technology. He loves computers and gaming, as well as, photography. I seem to always be investing money in the latest software or devices. He is constantly needing devices to transfer music, photos and homework from one computer or laptop to the other. My favorite brand of transferring devices is Lexar. You might remember the review I did on the Lexar S73 Jumpdrive last year. If not you can see that review here.  I just love the products from Lexar. I am thrilled to be working with them again for my Back to School guide. This time I had the opportunity to review the Lexar Jumpdrive P10 64GB 3.0 flash drive.

The P10 3.0 flash drive features:

Up to 24x faster than speed rated USB 2.0 drives. It is actually among the fastest USB drives available

Up to 265MB read and 245MB write

Sleek design with metal alloy base and high-gloss mirror finish top

Reliably stores and transfers files, photos, videos and more

Compatible with PC and Mac systems

Limited lifetime warranty

The P10 is available in 3 different sizes 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. The 16GB capacity is up to 260MB read, and 180MB write. The 32GB capacity is up to 265MB read and 245MB write. The 64GB capacity is up to 265MB read, and 245MB write. The drive is impressively fast with speeds up to 265MB read and 245MB write you can transfer 1000 photos in less than a minute and a full-length HD movie in less than 40 seconds.

I am so pleased with the Lexar Jumpdrive P10! It has surpassed anything I have tried before. My main laptop is truly on its last leg. I ended up buying a new one to replace it because it has been dropped one too many times and the screen is barely hanging on. The problem I have is all of my music and photos are on the main laptop. As you can expect, I have an abnormally large music and photo library that needs to be transferred over. I will be honest, I despise having to transfer all the files. I can usually transfer my photo files without any problems, but transferring the music library is a different story. It is a long and tedious process that usually frustrates me beyond measure, so I usually have my son do that part for me.

I decided to take on the task of transferring my photo library. I have thousands of photos on my main laptop but transferring them was a breeze. I put the P10 into my USB on my main laptop and highlighted the files I wanted transferred, I then just copy and pasted the files onto the drive. I ejected the Jumprdirve and put it into my other laptop, opened the files and pasted them where I wanted, and it was done. (I know some people cut, and paste-I chose not to do that just in case I do something wrong when I move the data. I would rather be safe than sorry.) It was actually remarkably simple and extremely fast! I know this year Spencer is unquestionably  going to need the Jumpdrive, and I have all the confidence in the world that it is going to surpass the needs he will have for school. I absolutely recommend the Lexar Jumpdrive P10 it is a must have at my home for back to school. Lexar has a plethora of products from Jumpdrives, Memory Cards, SD Cards and more that can be viewed on their website.

  1. I probably should have one or two of those just to back up my desktop–or at least the pics and reviews!

  2. I have friend here in the area whose son is attending online classes too. I think that your son would be a very good photographer . That flash drive would be a great tool for your son to store his photography shots and other stuff for school.

  3. I could really do with this as we have a couple of laptops at home and it would make it so much easier to store the images and docs on the flash drive.

  4. I would love to try a jumpdrive like this for my photos. They are so small and portable.

  5. we have the exact same thumb drive.:)

  6. I am using flash drives as well (in fact, I have more than four pieces) and I love it to pieces and yes Lexar is one of those! It’s great for storing photos (though I am using 250 GB of external hard drive for forever storage) and some other digital stuffs storage. I think that 3.0 is fast as lightning. Thanks for sharing!

  7. Healy Harpster says:

I definitely will be needing one of this Jumpdrive. I am not into musics but I have thousand and thousand of my kids precious photos that I need to save and transferred… Also, I like the small size of P10

  8. That is perfect. Instead of bringing lots of CDs you can just put the files there and you are set
