Are you one of the millions of people that buys gifts for your dog for the holidays? I admit I do buy my dogs gifts for Christmas and stocking stuffers, they are spoiled babies. I recently discovered an incredible organization called Glad Dogs Nation that offers an innovative, environmentally-friendly line of dog toys. Additionally, 100% of the profits are donated to animal causes.

Here is a little about what Glad Dogs Nation does:

They up-cycle unwanted children’s stuffed toys. The toys are washed in hot water using biodegradable detergent. The hard eyes are removed and replaced with cute appliques, the hard noses are replaced with pompoms and at least one squeaker is added to the toy (the inside of the toy is taken out). The toy is sewn up with colorful thread in big stitches to replicate the scar found on all dogs that have been spayed and neutered. ┬áIf the contents of the toy had beads in it they have been removed captured and recycled. The toys are available in 3 sizes, as well as, Barely Stuffed, former Beanie Babies, and provide options without stuffing and without squeakers. They are also extremely reasonably priced.

I received a selection of toys from Glad Dogs Nation for my dogs, and they absolutely love them. Peaches (the poodle) loves plush toys they are her favorite thing to play with, Chloe is a little harder on the toys as she likes to shred them up. I gave them both one of the former Beanie Baby toys, and they played for hours with them. I absolutely love this program it is a excellent program that offers affordable dog toys that are better for the environment while also contributing to worthy animal causes. Nothing is better than purchasing something that pays it forward, in my opinion. This year instead of purchasing expensive dog toys buy your dogs affordable toys that also give back from Glad Dogs Nation. 1. What a great way to recycle old toys. My Daughter always buys her pets Christmas gifts and they do love toys, especially the stuffed animals.

  2. I don’t buy my dogs gifts for Christmas but we do buy toys every once in a while. How nice that they recycle the toys. I never thought about doing that myself with the kids beanies. Great idea!

  3. I used to love to buy my pets something at the holidays!
