If you are like me, you love giving gifts for the holidays. It is something that I plan all year because I want to give a gift that will be memorable and practical. When it comes to giving gifts to children, I want to give them something that will be fun, but also educational. Super Duper Publications had just what I was looking for! They offer a vast variety of products and games that are perfect for holiday gift giving or stuffing stockings.

One item that would be a perfect stocking stuffer or would also be suitable for holiday gift bags for a classroom is the Ticklin’ Tongue Twister pencils.  The Ticklin’ Tongue Twister pencils come in a jumbo package of 60 for $15.85. The pencils are ideal for all ages and ideal for school because they are No. 2 pencils. The jumbo package includes a variety of colors and feature common tongue twisters; such as Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.

Some of the games that would be perfect for gift giving are; Photo Fish Classifying Magnetic Game, MagneTalk Telling Time Game, Word Joggers for Categories, Go For The Dough Board Game, and Turtle Talk Fluency and Language Game.

The Photo Fish Classifying Magnetic Game is for ages 3-12.

It features:

1 Durable fish pond 36′ X 23″

2 Lightweight fishing poles

55 Magnetized photo-fish and stickers

5 “Category Catch” Fish

A plastic tote tackle box

Instructions and game ideas

Before you play the game, you need to put the photo stickers on the fish (not on the side of the magnet).  You cover the fish on the pond with the photos facedown. Then each player fishes for a category from the category fish and then try to catch fish that match their category.

My oldest grandson and granddaughter played this game together. They had a terrific time fishing for their category fish.  My middle grandson didn’t want to share a pole, so he didn’t play. However, you can purchase additional poles from Super Duper, so everyone has their own. The game price is $43.95.

The MagneTalk Telling Time game is for ages 3 and up 1-4 players. It features:

Magnetic game board 14″ X 18″

24 Magnetic number tiles

47 Magnetic “sentence maker” tiles

2 Hands for the clock

The game teaches children 2 ways to tell time. One is from the face clock, and the other is a digital clock. They can also learn to construct sentences with the “sentence maker” magnets. It is a great way to teach children how to tell time while also allowing them to develop relevant time telling sentences.  The game is a little advanced for 3 year olds in my opinion. They may be able to read the numbers on the digital part of the clock, but that is about it. I personally think this game is better suited for children 5 and older with the “sentence maker” portion. The game price is $21.95

Word Joggers for Categories is for ages 4 and up and 1-5 players. It features:

15 Boards (30 playing surfaces)

Spinner (1-2)

396 Word Joggers Cards

6 Card holders

Bingo chips

Instructions and game ideas

The game is a terrific Bingo game that uses the Word Jogger cards and colorful game boards. The game targets language processing skills with 6 categories; animals, home, food, school, clothing and transportation. I think this is a great game, not just for children but for the entire family. I don’t know many people that don’t like to play Bingo. This is a fantastic way to quality time with your child. The game price is $64.95.

Go For The Dough Board Game is for ages 4 and up. The game features:
16′ X 16″ Game Board

6 Cars/pawns

480 Illustrated color-coded Super Dough Dollars (80 synonyms, 80 opposite, 80 rhyming words, 8- definitions, 80 categories, and 80 multiple word meaning).

Dice

Suggested answer booklet

The game teaches word recall, word meaning, word knowledge, describing skills and more. The goal of the game is to deliver pizza to Grandma’s house, and the player with the most money at the end wins. This game is fun and educational. However, if the children are not able to read yet adult participation is required.  The price of the game is $49.95

Turtle Talk Fluency and Language Game is for ages 3 and up. The game features:

16′ X 16″ Game board

Six color-coded topic categories ( animals, around the home, food, holiday & seasons, occupations, and things you wear).

A plastic turtle

Dice, pawns, instructions and game ideas

72 Foam turtle tokens

240 Turtle Talk fluency/language cards

The object of the game is to collect Turtle Tokens as the player moves around the board as they answer questions. When all the tokens are gone the player with the most tokens wins. This game focuses on storytelling, reading, listening, critical thinking, describing, sequencing, and vocabulary building. I think it is more age appropriate for school age children because of the reading and skill level required to play the game. The game price is $54.95

Overall, the games are fun and educational. However, if you are getting them for younger children there will be a lot of adult participation required. I would recommend getting the games for school age children or for families for family fun nights.

I also like fun games that encourage learning and building skills. One of the things I noticed they have make it very easy to shop for kids with autism.. When I browse for games for the boys, this saves me time by not having to browse thru all the pages and I can go right to the section on the website. Thank you for sharing
