Since school has started here, I have found myself running around all day long taking kids here and there. I have been skipping a lot of meals which means by 4 in the afternoon I am famished and will eat just about anything. I am not one to eat unhealthily but when I get HANGRY it is over with. I wanted to get some trail mix the other day to eat something real quick, but everything I found had peanuts in it. Well, as it goes I am allergic to peanuts, so I ended up not eating. After I had got home that night, I went on Pinterest to see if I could find some trail mix recipes that I could whip up myself. I found this PIN that features a yummy looking trail mix but again it has peanuts in it. I, however, used this as my (p)inspiration for my own fruit and nut trail mix. I know some may be confused as to why I used some nuts but the truth is I can eat nuts just not peanuts. I have a lot of weird food allergies, so I stick with what I know I can eat. The FUN thing about trail mix is you can pretty much add whatever you like to make it to your liking. I made a pretty simple one that I can take with me in my purse for those busy days when I won’t have time for lunch. I didn’t add any chocolate or anything that would melt since it is still 90 degrees here.

Here is what I used for my peanut-free trail mix:
1 Cup roasted salted almonds
1 Cup cashew halves and pieces
1 Cup dried pineapple
1 Cup coconut chips
2 Cups cherry infused Craisins

Mix all of the ingredients together and enjoy! I put this delicious mix in a container and take it on the go so I can avoid getting HANGRY. See how simple that was?
