Are you are looking for a flavorful recipe to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month?  I have created a delicious, healthy Quinoa Bowl recipe to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month using products from IMUSA and Goya Foods. My family and I enjoy creating new recipes that have different cultural influences. Since it is Hispanic Heritage Month, I teamed up with leading Hispanic cookware company IMUSA and the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the USA Goya Foods to create this healthy Quinoa Bowl Recipe. The recipe is not only healthy but is incredibly flavorful with a dash of Hispanic flair.

The IMUSA products I used for the Healthy Quinoa Recipe include Red Ceramic Caldero (24cm), Nonstick Caldero (30 cm), Citrus Squeezer and Can Opener.  The Calderos come complete with a matching lid.

 

The Red Ceramic Caldero the ceramic construction is Nonstick PFOA, PTFE, and cadmium free. The glass lid has silicone rim that seals in the flavor, a steam vent, and a cool-touch knob.

The Nonstick Caldero features hammered cast Aluminum, glass lid with steam vent, cool touch knob and nonstick coating.

The Citrus Squeezer is made of Aluminum and is ideal for using with lemon or limes.

The Can Opener features stainless steel accents and ergonomic handles.

 

*Note the Calderos have metal handles that get hot. Please use pot holders when using the Calderos to avoid burns.

 

Healthy Quinoa Bowl Recipe

 

Healthy Quinoa Bowl Recipe to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

1 lb. ground turkey

A packet of taco seasoning (your choice)

1 cup Goya Organic Quinoa

1 12oz can Goya Spanish Tomato Sauce

1 can Goya Low Sodium Black Beans

1 Tablespoon Goya Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1 can Ro-Tel Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies

½ teaspoon Chili Powder

1 Tablespoon chopped Garlic

½ cup diced white Onion

Cilantro

1 large lime

2 cups water

Sliced Jalapenos (if desired)

Light Sour Cream

Meat Mixture:

Heat IMUSA Ceramic Caldero on medium heat. Add ground turkey cook thoroughly. Add ½ cup of water and taco seasoning, stir mixture and cook on medium/low heat for 15 minutes or until done.

Quinoa Mixture:

In the IMUSA Nonstick Caldero add Goya Extra Virgin Olive Oil heat on medium heat. Add onion and garlic cook for approximately 5 minutes until onions are translucent. Add Goya Spanish Tomato Sauce, Ro-Tel, 1 ½ cups water, chili powder, and Goya Organic Quinoa. Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce temperature to Med/Low, cover, cook for approximately 30-40 minutes (stir occasionally) until Quinoa is done.

**I rinse and drain the Quinoa before I cook it.

In a small saucepan heat Goya Low Sodium Black Beans on Med/High heat until warm. Use a slotted spoon to serve.

Assemble the bowl with a layer of quinoa (1/2-1 cup), meat mixture (3 tablespoons or to your liking), 2 tablespoons of black beans (drained), a dollop of light sour cream, jalapenos (optional), a sprinkle of cilantro, drizzle lime juice using the IMUSA Citrus Squeezer. Enjoy!

6-12 servings depending on the serving size.

  35. I love quinoa and didn’t even know Goya made one! The recipe looks like something I would make on a normal weeknight (minus the turkey because I am vegan). I love making healthier bowls by using quinoa instead of rice.
