When you visit my home, you will find there is no shortage of technology. I am a busy blogger who is constantly on my desktop or laptop. My husband usually has work to do at home so he is on his laptop in the evening. Our teenage son attends school online so he is also on his laptop or new desktop computer.   Yes, that makes the total of PC’s and Laptops at my house to 5. I know it is a ridiculous amount of devices for 3 people, but we all need to be able to have our own access at any given time including when we travel. I actually just recently purchased my laptop and my son’s desktop computer. I needed something that was portable, and he needed something that was more up to date to use for school. After purchasing the latest devices , I had a software dilemma. What software was I going to use for documents? I did some research and found Office 365 Home Premium software was exactly what I needed!

Office 365 Home Premium is actually a subscription that you buy that can be used on up to 5 devices including PC’s, laptops, Windows Tablet, and even on some types of phones. The subscription includes :

  • · The latest and most complete set of Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Access and Publisher
  • · An additional 20 GB of SkyDrive cloud storage, nearly three times the amount available with a free SkyDrive account
  • · 60 free Skype world calling minutes per month to call mobile phones, landlines or PCs around the world
  • · Future upgrades, so you always use the latest time-saving technology

I personally love Office 365 Home Premium. My favorite feature is the cloud connection. I love being able to write something on my desktop and have the ability to access iton my laptop,  especially while I am traveling. Another thing I love is being able use it on 5 devices. Most software has a 3 PC limit which just isn’t effective in my home. It unquestionably meets all of my family’s needs for office software. It is also reasonably priced at $99.99 a year for up to 5 devices. If you are interested visit the website to learn more about the product.

Microsoft also just launched a new program to assist students to get new Windows 8 PC for school with the latest Office software called Chip In. The program works similarly to a wedding registry where students with a valid edu email address can sign up for the PC of their choice. Then they can have family and friends help donate funds to the PC of their choice and Microsoft will “chip in” 10% of the purchase price. Additionally for the first 10,000 students that get their PC fully funded Microsoft with also “chip in” a four-year subscription of Office 365 University at no charge. To learn more about Chip In visit https://www.windowschipin.com/. I think this is an excellent program that can truly be beneficial for students.
