Review: As you should be well aware I absolutely loved divergent it is one of my favorite book series ever. I was extremely excited and nervous at the same time for this movie because I couldn’t wait to see this book acted out but I didn’t want them to ruin the book by making a bad movie. I was pleasantly surprised that it was fairly good. It was not my favorite book to movie adaptation but it was certainly not my least favorite. I thought that the actors and actresses did a great job for character portrayal. I however thought that movie didn’t show the relationships of the “bad guys” and her “friends” good enough. I wasn’t nearly as connected to the movie characters as I was the book characters. I still think that everyone should read the book before the movie so they can fully understand some of the things that aren’t explained as well as in the movie. I was very excited to see the zipline scene in the movie since I heard talks of removing that scene from the movie because the makers of the film didn’t see the need of it. That was my favorite scene in the book so as you can imagined I was thrilled upon seeing it. I thought that the character Al was not given proper screen time and the attempted rape/ inappropriate touching that happened in the attempted kidnapping scene was completely removed sort of confusing and it didn’t show the super caring and protective side to Tobias. Overall it was good and I am looking forward to seeing the future movies and how they come to be. I mean The Hunger Games first movie is almost unwatchable to me and then the second movie happened and that was amazing so hopefully they can only go up with this series too. I would give this movie 3.5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this movie to fans of the book and people who are looking into reading the series.
