My Yellow Balloon

I don’t know about you but trying to explain or discuss grief and loss to children is always difficult. Since most times, they don’t fully understand what they are feeling or what has happened. If you or someone, you know is trying to help a child through a situation like this I have found the perfect item for it. My Yellow Balloon is a children’s book that discusses the topic of grief and loss through colorful and black and white illustrations. As well as a thought provoking and deeply profound story. I have had to discuss this topic with my children before, and it is always difficult, I wish I were able to have this book during those times.

The synopsis of the book is:
It all started at the carnival…That s where Joey makes a new friend: a bright yellow balloon. Joey and his beloved balloon do everything together, until the balloon accidentally slips off Joey s wrist and flies far, far away. What will Joey do without his special friend? Tiffany Papageorge has crafted a poignant tale of love, loss, and letting go that will serve as a comforting guide to children who are navigating the complicated emotions of grief. Rich, luminous illustrations by Erwin Madrid perfectly capture these timeless themes, making them accessible to even the youngest reader. Honest, unflinching, and ultimately reassuring, My Yellow Balloon will resonate with anyone who has endured the darkness of grief, while offering hope for brighter days ahead.

The book was an incredible story to read along with a child. It describes the topic to help children understand the situation while explaining it is okay to feel the way you feel. It shows that no matter what happens “ I’ll feel you with me. Wherever I am, wherever I go, you are a part of me, and I am a part of you.” This is a book that I highly recommend you to have on hand for situations applicable to this. It would make a perfect book for schools as well as homes to have. If you would like to know more about the book or the author you can visit the Website, Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn. You can purchase the book at all major bookstores.
