Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co

If you are looking for a gift for the wine enthusiast in your life, I would recommend Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co. As most of you already know, I am a big music lover who is also a wine enthusiast so naturally I was thrilled to discover Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co. The Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co was created and launched from one of my favorite bands Train. (My husband and I actually got to see them perform over the summer, and it was a fantastic concert).

The Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co has a small variety of wine available. Each flavor of the wine is named after lyrics or titles from Train songs. The selection includes:

  • Drops of Jupiter California Red Wine.
  • Calling All Angels Chardonnay.
  • California 37 Cabernet Sauvignon.
  • Bulletproof Picasso Sauvignon Blanc.
  • Hella Fine Merlot.
  • Soul Sister Pinot Noir.

I recently had the opportunity to try a variety of Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co wine. I tried Drops of Jupiter, Soul Sister, Bulletproof Picasso, and Hella Fine.

The Drops of Jupiter California Red Wine is a delicately balanced Petite Sirah base wine. The wine has overtones of boysenberry fruit that has smooth tannins. It pairs perfectly with chocolate or Italian food or alone. It should be served at cellar temperature. It is also a 2012 San Francisco International Wine Competition gold medal award winner. I really enjoyed the flavor of the wine as it was fruit forward but not sweet or overly dry. It is the perfect wine to drink in the evening with a special someone.

Soul Sister Pinot Noir is a delightfully balanced with a combination of ripe cherries, strawberries and a hint of vanilla. It is an incredibly smooth ruby red wine. Although it has a combination of flavors, it is not sweet but perfectly balanced Pinot Noir. My husband and I drink this at cellar temperature. It is also a 2013 California State Fair gold-medal award winner. I love this wine as is a fantastic every day wine. It has quickly become one of my favorites. It is also ideally paired with Italian food or beef. I am thrilled to find this wine locally.

Bulletproof Picasso Sauvignon Blanc offers a variety of citrus fruit flavor of grapefruit and lemon with a hint of tropical fruit and a crisp finish. Although my husband and I are not typically white wine drinkers we did enjoy this one because of the crisp finish and mouth feel. We enjoyed this with a platter of cheese and olives. It would be ideally paired with seafood.

Hella Fine Merlot offers dark fruit flavor with a hint of chocolate and cherries. It is a full-bodied Merlot that is smooth and delicious. The Hella Fine is easily another favorite of mine. I appreciate the full body mouth feel with the undertones of chocolate and cherries without being sweet or overly dry. This wine pairs perfectly with Italian food, hamburgers, or pizza. I personally enjoy it with everything.

My husband and I enjoyed all of the flavors of wine that we tried but are favorites are Soul Sister Pinot Noir and Hella Fine Merlot. Not only is the wine good quality, but it is also extremely affordable at $15 or lower a bottle. I found it locally for about $11 a bottle. I prefer the Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co wine over the more expensive brands that I have tried. I also appreciate the fact that it is not sweet but balanced, smooth, and flavorful.

Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co has won over 100 medals in wine competitions. Additionally, proceeds from the sales from the wine is used to support Family House; a nonprofit organization that provides temporary housing for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at the University of California San Francisco Benioff Children’s Hospital. Not only is the wine fantastic but the proceeds go to a wonderful organization. This holiday season purchase Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co products because they are high-quality, affordable, and proceeds benefit an important organization. As a wine enthusiast I believe this is a win/win situation. To learn more about the products available or to find a store located near you visit the website.
